Face Contouring: The Puzzle Solved!

Hello beauties!!

Happy Friday! How are you planning to spend the weekend? For me, it's just going to be another lazy, relaxed weekend (hopefully!)..don't feel like doing much these days..lazy me!

Today I have for you a post which has been requested so many times..but due to lack of time and partially my laziness, I couldn't do it till now.. :D

Face Contouring Tutorial: The Puzzle Solved!

Face contouring and highlighting is something which has become a very popular topic of discussion these days but there are still so many girls out there who are clueless about how to really do it!
You see the makeup gurus keep talking about contouring, how it can make your face look thinner etc. but if done the wrong way, it can make you look like you have uneven patchy skin and a partial sunburn :P

So I have a mini tutorial for you which hopefully will be helpful in solving this puzzle and prove just how easy it is!

Steps for Contouring:

1. Take a bronzer/ blush which is darker than your skin tone, preferably brown. I used NYX Blush in the shade 'Cocoa', which is one of the best products for contouring, especially for Indian/ yellow skin tone!
2. Using a brush or your fingers, mark out the highlighted areas in the pictures below with the bronzer. This would be areas where the light naturally falls on your face and creates shadows; your jaw area, under the cheekbones, near your hairline, the sides of your nose.

Contouring the jaw area reduces the appearance of a double chin, around the nose makes your nose look thinner and around the temple area can make your forehead look smaller.

3. Blend so that there are no harsh lines, but not so much that the color difference isn't visible.
4. Use a blush to give some color to your cheeks.
5. Apply a highlighter if needed (will talk more about this in another post)

DONE!

You can see from the pictures what a significant difference this makes..The foundation we apply tends to erase the natural shades and contours of the face. This steps helps in giving a more natural look to your makeup.

Do you apply this technique when doing makeup? Did this help? I would love to know your feedback!

xoxo
