So the other day I was just browsing stuff online and doing my favorite time pass..go through beauty sites and look for what to buy next (I think it is a known fact by now that I am a shopaholic and leaving me alone with my laptop can be hazardous!) :P
I was looking for a good makeup remover since I am almost done with the existing one. And looking at the price of the removers just made me wonder..what is the big deal with makeup removers..I mean first I put some chemicals on my face to look presentable..and then I use some more chemicals to get the previous batch off! The whole thing sounds a little messed up..
Ofcourse we all know that one of the biggest sins in the beauty world is to sleep with your makeup on and nobody wants to get up with clogged pores and pimples *yikes*
This got me thinking and I started to wonder what alternatives I could use to remove my makeup in an inexpensive and convenient way. So I googled it, like we all do for every little thing these days :P and came across a variety of home-made alternatives to makeup removers!
A few simple and effective ones are listed below:
1. In a bottle, mix 2/3rd portion of oil (olive/almond/coconut) with 1/3rd portion of mineral water. Just shake well and you have a natural, safe and effective makeup remover ready!
2. Mix 1/2 cup coconut oil with 1 Vitamin E Capsule and 2-3 drops of essential oils like Lavendar oil. Mix well and store in a jar!
3. The cheapest eye makeup remover - Just apply some basic Vaseline petroleum jelly on your eyes, keep for a minute and then wipe with a warm wet cloth. Voila!
I tried the first method and it works like a charm. I had a spare bottle in which I store this mixture and use it every time to remove my makeup. The bottle also has a spray and is leak-proof which makes it so convenient to take with me while I am travelling! Loving it!
My bottle is almost empty..time to make a new batch :D
Have any of you tried this trick? Any other DIY tricks that you would like to share? Lemme know!!
